I have never really had the desire to go see the number one sport in america in person, yes if you can believe it Nascar is America's # 1 sport....

We were hanging out down by the river a few months back which is by Phoenix International Raceway, it was a Saturday, no races were scheduled but we heard the racecars going and thought it would be cool to see if we could get in to check them out, we thought Jonah would like them.

It turns out that some weekends they let people pay to drive them. For a bargin price of $109 dollars you can sit in the passenger seat of one of these beauties for 3 whole laps, yes you read that right 3 laps that probably go by in 2 minutes or less. They have packages that go all the way up to 3,999 for 70 laps over 2 saturdays of driving and of course you are the driver! If you could afford that I would say you had a lot of money to burn!!

It was kind of cool to see, we were right on the race track. I can not believe how loud these things were and now I never have to spend my money to go see one of these races because I truly have no desire... but Jonah thought it was pretty cool!! Jaxton not so much, the lound noise scared him:(!

We had a little scare on Friday with Jonah.... We were at a friends pool and were getting ready to go so the life jacket came off, I can't remember how it happened because it happened so fast but Jonah jumped in the pool at the other end of the swimming pool from where I was. I just remember being so scared and panicked, I jumped in to grab him, everything seemed like it was in slow motion and I could not get to him fast enough. He was kicking so hard and I kept seeing his little head bob up a few times but he kept gulping in water. Someone got to him like a second before I did and when we got him out of the pool he was breathing thank goodness... crying because he was so scared. He just kept coughing up water, and then he threw up water a couple times. To add insult to injury when he was wrapped up in his towel he fell over and bumped his head, he got a nasty bruise and scrap on his forehead. I felt horrible all day, replaying it in my head thinking about what I could have or should have done differently. I am just so thankful to my father in heaven for protecting Jonah that day because I know it could have been much, much worse. I have been contemplating over the last few days about what a miracle life really is. Driving home from the pool I just listened to Jonah breathing in and out; so grateful that he was. I watched him all day to make sure he was okay, everything he did just seemed very miraculous. They say how easy it is for kids to bounce back and it has been that way for Jonah. We got home and he was running, jumping, rolling, doing handstands, headstands everywhere. Like nothing had happened at all 20 minutes earlier. We are very grateful that Jonah Is okay, we love him very much. He adds so much happiness and laughter into our lives!!

4 1/2 Months

We had Jaxtons four month check up on Monday. He has Grown so much, he is 16 lbs 9 oz and 27 inches long. He is doing so many fun things, he smiling and giggling. sometimes I will be doing something in the kitchen and he will start laughing just to get my attention. He is rolling all over the place. He loves his brother and watches everything that he does and just loves being in his presence. Jonah has been such a good big brother, he always tries to make him smile and loves to give him hugs and kisses. He worries when he cries and whispers it's okay I'm right here. He is really very sweet.

As You Wish Pottery

I heard about this really cool pottery place called As You Wish Pottery, you can paint whatever you want on the pottery and then they fire it for you! I wanted to get Jaxton's and Jonah's hand/foot prints on a plate, but as you know I am not the best artist so when My sister Heather came into town a few weeks ago she did these plates for me, they turned out so cute!! Thanks Heather!!

Zoo and dishes

We went to the zoo, Jonah's favorite animal is the Komodo Dragon, he talks about him all the time!!

Jonah made a new friend at the zoo... the Baboon! The poor thing looked so lonely!

Butterflies

We have had a lot of ran fall this winter, Jonah is standing in a washed out road by the Gila river, he had fun throwing rocks in!

Jaxton is so good at holding up his head, he is very proud of himself and so are we!!

We went to the Desert Botanical Gardens which kind of sounds boring...I had to twist chads arm to go but it was awesome, the cactus were blooming and there were lots of cool plants and flowers.

At the Botanical Gardens they had a Butterfly exhibit that was incredible.

The Butterflies landed on us several times, Jonah thought it was pretty neat!

Jonah got up early one morning and decided to get himself breakfast...Cupcakes, I walked down the stairs and his whole face was in this cupcake, he said he didn't want to get his hands dirty.

Jaxton's Blessing and A new house

We were so excited to have the oppurtunity to bless Jaxton Last sunday! It's at times like these we especially miss our family and friends. We were fortunate enough to have Chad's parents come out with his sister and brother-in-law!!

We have been fortunate enough to get into a House!! here are a few pics. Thats part of the reason Chads parents came down, they were nice enough to bring down all of our stuff from a storage unit we had in delta!! Have I mentioned how much I HATE to move!! It is so hard to move with Kids. My friend was so nice to take the kids for half the day, everything just seems to take longer than you think. I was at our apartment until 3:30 in the morning finishing up and cleaning, even at that I didnt get done but chad called when Jaxton was ready to eat. I had to get up at 7:00 a.ml to finish cleaning so I could have the keys in to management by 10:00...I got out of there with time to spare...9:53 A.M.It really sucks but I am glad we are done!! One other funny thing. when we moved into our apartment we didnt have to put a deposit down because of good credit, I wasnt expecting to get anything back especially because our nice white carpet was TRASHED but we ended up getting 91.25 back, I checked and they said it wasnt a mistake... I guess all of my hard work payed off!!

One Year Down...

Congrats Chad, One year of PT school Down 2 more to go!! I am so PROUD of chad for all of his hard work this past year in PT school, he has worked so hard and it has payed off!! This semester he got a 3.9, overall for the year a 3.75 and his classes were not easy!!! He now has a much anticipated break from school for March, April, and May! Hopefully we will make some money to live off of for the year:)!!

Hello Again

4 months after my last post with many people nagging me to update my blog, I am finally getting around to it! I'll just get to the fun part and post some pictures of Jaxton!! By the way, he is the sweetest thing EVER!! He is supper easy going, so very cuddly, just so sweet. By the way he isn't even 6 weeks yet but he has already started sharing smiles with us, they just melt your heart!! Jonah has been great with him to. Gives him lots of kisses and loves and is a great helper!!

Jonah turned 2 last Saturday and it was so much fun to celebrate with him! He is getting so big and smart. He loved opening all of his presents but he would have been happy with just one, it took like 2 hours to open five presents. We got him a tractor and it had 12 screws in it that you had to undo to get the toy out! We had fun going to the zoo and riding the Carosel. We also saw the zoo via bike!

We went to play at McDonalds playland for lunch and had fun riding the new bike his Grandma and Grandpa got him!!

It was pretty funny, after I frosted Jonah's cake he kept pulling a chair over to the counter and singing the happy birthday song to himself and sticking his fingers in the frosting.
He loved blowing out the candles and kept asking to do it again!

Jonah has brought us so much happiness and Joy these past two years! We feel so blessed to have him, he keeps us on our toes and has us laughing at all the funny things he says and does! Happy Birthday Jonah Bug!!!

our latest adventures

We have had a busy and fun couple of weeks. We started off going to Lake Powell for a few days, a night hike where we saw a scorpion, did you know that if you have a black light then the scorpians will glow in the dark? we went up to Payson, Arizona. It was so beautiful, it reminded me of home. All the trees, creeks, and oh it was so cool I think the high was 89 degrees, it was so nice. we didnt even mind the extra 2 hours it took to get back to Phoenix when it was time to go. (We went over Labor Day). Then on Friday we went to the Natural History Museum and ate dinner at nearby park with friends. It was September 11 and they had an awesome memorial going on. We went to our Dr.'s appointment yesterday and got to have an ultrasound of the baby. We really like Dr. Erickson, he seems really nice and they even told us that at 28-32 weeks they will do a free 3-d ultra sound, so we are excited! Most importantly it looks like it is healthy... and we are going to have another BOY!! We are so excited and can't wait till January 9, 2010 rolls around. We are totally stumped on Names though. The only name I really like is Connor but Chad says that it is too popular. Chad likes Adonus (yes like the greek god)! needless to say we have not come up with a name we both like. So we need help, if you have any ideas on boy names let us know, and if yours is picked then you will get a prize! (My Dad suggested the prize to be the umbilical cord after it falls off, but dont worry we will come up with something not so disgusting!) Thanks for your help!

Our Arizona Mountains

On Friday night we had a spectacular thunder Storm, the sky lite up with huge lightning bolts and we heard loud claps of thunder and the rain poured down for a good hour or so. I have really liked this part of summer(the monsoon season)! On Saturday we heard it was only supposed to be 95 and cloudy(instead of 110), we thought it was a good idea to go exploring. So these are our mountains that we get to enjoy... lots of rock and dust but there are some really neat Cacti...these things are seriously like 15 feet tall!! By the way we didn't last very long out there, although it was only 95 it also very humid and not so cloudy, needless to say we got really sweaty and gross!!

I Love Visitors

My sister Heather from San Diego came to visit for the weekend! we had so much fun! Jonah loved to have a visitor, he bounced around smiling and laughing the whole time she was here, in the morning he would say Heder, Heder and go jump on the bed she was sleeping in. we got to go to go to the Splash pad and the Youth Museum and Swimming. The Favorite event was going to eat at Cafe Rio, the only one in Arizona. For all you Callifornians we heard they are opening 20 down there including San Diego. Get excited Baby!! I still haven't figured out the whole picture thing on blogging so you will have to put up with me til I get it!

A little late on the blogging band wagon

This blog is dedicated to Lyndsie Anderson and Lisa Harper who have been hassling me to get a blog for the past two years. So now that we have moved to Arizona and it has been the hottest summer on record here(several days over 118) I have decided that I have no more excuses about not having time:)!!

Chad moved to Avondale, Arizona the end of May to start a Doctorate of Physical Therapy program, which he had just been accepted the month prior. Jonah and I stayed behind to finish getting our house sold and tying up lose ends, we arrived in Arizona the beginning of July to the 118 weather. We have taken advantage of our swimming pool at the apartments and splash pads around the valley trying to keep cool.

We have made a few friends from Chad's program and from church and even a few random people that I have met at story time that we do things with every once in a while!

Chad turned 30 on July 31st. I was planning on doing a big surprise party for him while we were still living in Utah but we don't really know that many people down here so that didn't work out very well, so we just went out to dinner with a few friends. It was very exciting!!
